Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how LingEQ collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects personal data.

1. Controller and registration Personal Information Collection Statement
靈格科技有限公司 (LINGEQ TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED), of 中国香港湾仔港湾道6-8号瑞安中心27楼2706,27室, is the controller of personal data described in this Privacy Policy and Personal Information Collection Statement. The canonical publication is https://lingeq.com/privacy. This Policy is published only in English, which is the controlling language.
We collect personal data directly from you when you register, use the application, upload a document, contact support, or make a payment, and automatically from your browser and requests when needed to operate and secure the service. The mandatory registration fields are your email address and password, together with confirmation that you are at least 18 and your current Terms and Privacy acknowledgements. A display name is optional. We collect this information to create and authenticate your account, communicate about the service, record your legal choices, prevent fraud and misuse, and protect LingEQ. If you withhold mandatory information, you cannot create an account.
Recipient classes for registration data are our cloud hosting and storage providers, authentication and security providers, transactional email provider, payment providers when you purchase, AI providers when you request a review, and professional advisers or authorities where legally required. 2. Categories of personal data
We may collect account and contact details; password hashes, session and API-key records; support and security information; uploaded PDFs and metadata; review tasks and generated review results; communications with us; device, request-log, and fraud-prevention information; and payment references and transaction records. Payment-card details are processed by payment providers and are not stored by LingEQ. We do not intentionally ask for special-category or sensitive personal data. Do not submit it unless you are authorised and have a lawful basis to do so.
3. Purposes of processing
We process personal data to create and secure accounts, provide writing evaluations, process payments, communicate with you, respond to requests, prevent fraud and misuse, comply with legal obligations, and maintain and improve the security and reliability of LingEQ.
4. Recipients and service providers
We disclose personal data only as needed to operate, secure, support, and comply with law for LingEQ. Recipient classes and current providers include:
- Stripe and WeChat Pay for payment processing.
- Resend for transactional communications.
- Cloud hosting, object storage, and LEQ-DB for application data storage and operations.
- OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and DeepSeek for AI processing needed to provide requested evaluations.
- Professional advisers, transaction counterparties, regulators, courts, and law-enforcement authorities where disclosure is necessary and lawful.
5. No sale, targeted advertising, or model training
We do not sell personal data and do not use personal data for targeted advertising. Your submitted content and review results are not used to train LingEQ or third-party AI foundation models.
6. International AI processing and transfers
When you request a review, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and DeepSeek may receive your uploaded documents, metadata, and personal data they contain, which may be processed internationally to produce your requested reviews. Other providers may also process personal data outside Hong Kong where necessary to host, secure, communicate, or process payments for LingEQ.
Before upload, LingEQ asks you to acknowledge this cross-border AI processing. We take reasonable steps to use providers and contractual or other safeguards appropriate to international processing, subject to applicable law.
7. Retention and verified deletion
Deletion requests
You may request deletion by emailing [email protected]. We will delete accounts, uploads, and review results within 30 days after verification of your identity and request.
We may retain limited payment, tax, anti-fraud, security, and dispute records for up to seven years, or longer where law requires. We minimise retained records and delete or anonymise other personal data when the verified deletion is completed.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data. If we discover a security incident, we will assess it and take steps, including notifications, required by applicable law. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights and request process
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, export, deletion, or restriction of personal data; object to processing; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; or raise a privacy concern. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully completed.

10. Response handling
We normally respond to verified privacy requests within 30 days, or sooner where applicable law requires. Where we cannot fulfil a request, we will explain the reason when required or appropriate and may request additional information to verify identity or clarify the request.
11. Essential storage
LingEQ uses only essential browser storage and authentication cookies necessary to authenticate users, maintain sessions, protect the service, and remember operational settings. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.
12. Applicable privacy laws
Depending on where you are and how you use LingEQ, your personal data may be protected by the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, Australian privacy law, applicable US state privacy law, or Mainland China's Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL). Rights and exceptions vary by jurisdiction.
